EOT day 3

Third and final day of EOT competition.  The repaired rifle was flawless!  Four stages with good times and 1 miss, felt very good.  We have a great posse, lots of good workers. It was hard to find a job to do!  And plenty of good photo subjects too.

Before our posse started Carlene and I went ver to the Mounted Shooting event.  The Cowboy Mounted Shooting Assoc. CMSA, ent that coincides with EOT each year.  We try to get to see some of it.  They shoot blanks to burst helium balloons.

Got a little packing done between shooting time and the dinner.  Good roast beef, excellent country band, lots and lots of very nice evening costumes.  There are plenty of fine dancers in this group.  Don’t let the average age of us fool anyone!

Half-a-Hand Henri won the Legendary Lady of Cowboy Action Shooting honor!

It’s only 10:30 tonight and I hear the coyotes just west of us.

Now there is someone who spends a lot of time going places with their horses

EOT Day 2

Second day of shooting at EOT.  We had the late shift starting at 2 PM.  Good stages, lots of fun and I shot fine.  Until my rifle broke on the third stage.  The firing pin extension broke and cost me 10 misses.  I borrowed a rifle from Yankee for the fourth stage.  Then run over to Boomstick gunsmith right after we finished.  He fixed me up with a new part and while he was inside the rifle he tweaked a couple other things he noticed.  Then into the main tent for a good Mexican dinner from Don Jose.

Followed up with side event awards.  I took 3rd place in Plainsman!

That was followed by a good game of bingo.  We didn’t win anything there.  They had some great prizes too, 3 guns, some fine shooting glasses, primers etc.

then out to the camper to sit around with cigars and talk with NH and ME friends.  Tyler, Des and the Slippery family.

Carlene and Skye had a good hike today in Cave Creek.

It’s 11:30 now and I’m listening to the coyotes singing very close by!
