Lane Southern Orchards in Fort Valley, GA

Peaches and pecans.  This is a big operation, many many acres of orchard, some signs are at orchards miles away.  The parking is in a big lot, which is lucky because there are several campers here tonight.

It was a pretty drive over here from AL.  Just over 200 miles and mostly in AL.  A few nice lakes and several nice towns.  But a shortage of places to pull the rig over, so we only stopped a couple times.

Once here we checked out the store.  It is quite large for a farm store.  Lots of good sounding peach products and a few pecan products.  Clearly their peach operation is primary.  And just to prove how far ahead of us they are at being Springtime… The Strawberries are ready!  Of course we bought some fresh strawberries.  They’ll be great on cereal.  Or ice cream.

We went into town to do some laundry, one of those necessities, since we were here fairly early.  Arrived about 2:30, even with a final time zone change.

The peach ice cream this afternoon was very good, not too sweet.  and the pecan pie tonight was excellent!

Back in the Eastern Time Zone, sunset was at 7:54.

Seminole photos

This is intended as a photo dump from Seminole Canyon.  W they are almost in order, somewhat.  I couldn’t get it right without loading one at a time.  When I loaded them in groups they went out of order.

There are three major groups.  The hike to the pictographs, the short hike on the rim trail along Seminole Canyon and a hike along all of Seminole Canyon reaching the Rio Grande.  There are more pictographs at the south end of Sem. Canyon.
