Seminole 2

Last night was so nice!!!  The night sky was outstanding.  Actually I was out sitting.  Sitting watching the stars in shorts and T Shirt until 9:30 and it was still over 70 degrees.  Jupiter followed by a sliver of a moon, then Venus and Mars up high.  This is remote enough to be a great dark sky site.

This morning we took the guided tour of the pictographs in the canyon.  There were about a dozen people with the guide.  Kevin does the tours 10 times per week and by now he really knows his stuff.  He had good answers to any question anyone had along with a constant flow of information.

After lunch we went to town for milk and had a fair cell signal to get all the email and to call home.  The updated email was good because it included our confirmation for Saturday night’s Harvest Host, the Whistling Duck Winery in Weimar TX. We were looking for a farm for variety but the winery was in the right place for the distance we wanted.

Back at camp we went for a 3 mile hike along the canyon rim.  Follow that with some fresh guacamole and a Tecate (Mexican) beer.
