Seminole 3

 Last night:

8:06 pm dark enough to see the sliver of a moon and Venus.  Jupiter was visible for 15 minutes before it set.
We’ve had the windows open for two nights now!
Nice sunrise this morning.
Long 7.6 mile hike to see the Rio Grande canyon where Seminole Canyon joins it. Majestic views of round bottom canyons from a trail on the rim.  They say this was never a flowing river, that the erosion is all by wind blown sand. The rim trail weaves around several side canyons along the path. It’s pretty flat all the way with maybe a couple hundred feet of vertical change.  We saw some ravens in several groups on the hunt and a squirrel along the trail.
We did not take Skye with us beacause the rock is very rough.  Cal was limping after half that distance the last time we were here.  He was sore for several days.  So Skye stayed home.  She was quite happy when we got back.  She got a walk around the park later.
Lots is new campers here on a Friday night.  I expect it’ll be packed for the weekend. However there are still sites marked “available”.
Tomorrow will be a fairly long drive to Weimar TX.  Hope to get an early start.
If anyone has tried to email us, it doesn’t work here.  The WiFi won’t load our emails. Probably just too many of them. So if you wrote to us we did t see it and we’ll get to you tomorrow.
Back to normal tomorrow.

WiFi took 12 minutes and still didn’t load a single photo.  Maybe tomorrow can have a photo dump.
