Camp Haekel 4

Carlene went out for a bike ride this morning. I stayed in camp with Skye and finished my Louis L’Amore book and started a Zane Gray.  I did a few things around the camper, but they were so exciting I can’t remember what they were.

When she got back and we were hanging around I heard a strange bird noise   Carlene’s bird app identified them as Sandhill Cranes   Then I finally spotted them in the sky right overhead   They were quite high so I missed getting a photo  looked like a couple hundred in formation headed north

This afternoon we drove up into Gila Box Conservation Area for some sightseeing. We saw some good sights and found a stream where Skye could get another swim.  She was very wet, very tired & very happy when she finally got back in the truck. No looking out the window on the trip home, just curl up and sleep.

Back at camp we met Susan, our new neighbor and her dog Finney. Both very nice.  She retired early and is full time camping in this tear drop trailer and mini van!
