Camp Haekel 13

13th day is also the 14th night, due to the way I counted. So it’s the last night here, headed east in the morning. That’s always a bittersweet time at best.  It means the western trip is ending.   It’s 4 weeks to get home, that’s a nice pace.

It was a cool and overcast day.  We had to do some grocery shopping this morning for the coming week.  We are traveling for 3 days to end at Seminole Canyon State Park in Texas.  There are no stores nearby so we have to bring everything; a convenience store @ 10 miles or 40 miles to Del Rio.  Tomorrow night will be a winery in La Union NM, about the last town before TX.  Next night in Balmorhea TX.  A truck stop that saw an opportunity and opened a campground next to it.  Mike, Becky & I stayed there last year.

Our neighbor, Susan & Findlay came over to say good bye, she is leaving tomorrow too.  This whole spot will be empty.  Everyone across the road has already gone.

We will change time zones each of the next two days.  AZ doesn’t use DST so we change at the state line with NM.  Then from Mtn to Central zone in TX the next day.  All of you who get stressed from DST better not get into traveling!😆😂🤠

We are also heading back into better weather.  All the rain that TX had is going off shore.  We should have upper 70s and warm nights for the week!

This was “sunset” tonight
