Finally got a great day, the truck is running mighty fine, sunny day, no cares.  We started with a short walk on a trail behind our campsite, down to the water.  Then we went to Ft. Morgan out on Mobile Point.  This fort was built in the early 1700s and changed hands several times over the next couple centuries.  French, British, Spanish, US, Confederacy, Union, US again.  It controls access to Mobile Bay from the sea.  In the 20th century it was manned during wartime but didn't see any action and hasn't been used since the late 40s.
It also has a nice beach.  And lots of oil rigs.  I counted 24 in view offshore on three sides.
