Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge

We met Pat and Jim Morris at Pinckney Island for some hiking and bird watching.  We did over 6 miles of hiking and spent some time with the birds too.  There was a large rookery of Little Blue Herons and Snowy Egrets which made a great display of nesting and flaring feathers.

After the hike we had lunch at The Crazy Crab.  Delicious!  Carlene had crab cake and I had scallops.

Then off to the beach on Hilton Head, near the condo they were staying at.  Beautiful beach.  It was low tide so the beach was huge!  Another mile and a half of walking.

Cannonball Jellyfish, they wash up on the beach, may survive if the tide comes back before they dry out
