Torreya Park

Rained during the night but quit by sunrise.
We started with a visit to the Gregory House, an antebellum plantation house in the park.  Great looking place.  It was actually relocated here from the other side of the river.  The main house is original while the separated kitchen and servant quarters is a reproduction.
Then we hiked the other open trail and had lunch overlooking the river.  It is a combination of hurricane damaged forest and some logging in the affected area.  Meaning they went in and cleaned up a lot of the downed trees leaving it looking like intense selective cutting.

Then a run into town for a few supplies; food & fuel.

We met Andre from Lincoln VT camping here.  He's been out since Jan 1, going home in May.  Divorced, lives alone, figures he can live alone on the road in the south just as easily as doing the same in Lincoln all winter.  And he sees his daughter in NC a bit too.

The Gregory House, and a bit of the story about the park

These kids were present all evening and in the morning, always having fun
