Texas, 2

Our hosts yesterday were nice enough this morning to get their air compressor running for a slightly soft truck tire.

Long but easy 338 mile drive. Lots of changing countryside. Texas has seven regions, according to some sources.  We started in the Piney Woods, crossed the Prairies and Lakes and then skirted the north edge of the Hill Country before coming into the Panhandle Plains. The hill country is always good for running down the fuel!  Not very steep but long hills.  Found our first sighting of Prickly Pear Cactus along the roadside by lunch time.

Our Harvest Host /Boondocker site tonight is beside a convenience store.  Mr. Singh and wife have only had this store for 4 months but they are campers too and have used HH in the past and realized they had some space to offer.  We bought a few things here and then went to a big store for more groceries for the week.  We will be in Terlingua TX tomorrow night for five nights at a campground.  Big Bend National Park!  We know there is only a small grocery in Terlingua so we bring a lot with us.  It’s a good store for its size and has all the basics.  But just basics. The full time population is only 110.
