The state park still had deer all over the place last night. When I took Skye out a couple times after dark the deer were back around camp watching us watching them.
Delightfully uneventful ride over to MS. We are at the Simmons-Wright Company Store, founded in 1884 by the current owners grandfather. they are Gary and Janice (just like our old neighbors). We walked around the store and talked with them for 1 1/2 hours. I found a couple Zane Grey books and some BBQ sauce that they make themselves. We both enjoy these old stores. Gary says his brother shoots cowboy too. We talked a lot about guns, shooting, hunting and many other things about life in MS.
There isn’t much else around this store, a slightly busy road and a very busy railroad across the street. But its 60 degrees at 8 PM and might get as low as 58. Tomorrow Monroe LA high 76 low 62. Maybe I can finally put away some of the winter clothes I have still been wearing!
And we also hear peepers!
