Squaw Lake campground, CA

We made it to California, OK, it's a half mile from the Colorado River & AZ.  Actually northeast of Yuma.  It is a BLM campground on an impounded portion of the Colorado River, nice water scenery, only 20 miles from town, only $7.50 with our Senior Pass.  Plenty of very friendly people.  We were not here very long before we had met a half dozen.  It is paved like a parking lot, so it isn't perfect.  No hookups but they have pay showers (7 min. for $1) which is easier than the camper shower.

This morning on the way through Why AZ (yes, that's the name!) we saw a coyote cross the road in front of us, stop in a parking lot and cross again behind us.  My iPhone camera was too slow to get a photo.  It took a whole minute to focus.

One last look at Organ Pipe camp

They sell very odd looking mailboxes at the Yuma Wal-Mart

We passed through the Army's Yuma Proving Ground on the way to camp.  This was the gate entrance.
