Bayou Segnette State Park, New Orleans

Forgot to mention a sighting yesterday of two Caracara birds on the side of I-10, on the ground just walking around.  Seemed a bit odd since they did not appear to be eating anything at that moment.

Generally pleasant day for a drive.  If you discount the several heavy and or stalled traffic areas we went through.  Houston (of course), Beaumont, big one in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Got into camp over an hour later than predicted due to that.

Found a Vermonter at the at the Atchafalaya visitor center.  They had wintered in Tucson and we’re headed to a sisters place in FL.  First green plate I’ve seen all month.

Bayou Segnette park is a familiar place. Carlene and I stayed here with Richmond friends Stevie and Jane a few years ago.  I walked around the campground and recognized a couple campsites.  Also got a couple sunset shots and listened to the tree frogs (?) all around the park

Mixed forecast tomorrow for our day in the French Quarter.  Hope it doesn’t rain too much.
