Columbus RV park, Columbus, TX

Nice day for a ride on the country.  Or across the country.  At least half way across Texas, 482 miles today.  That included San Antonio, which was not bad at all but hardly a drive in the country.

Featured in the windshield today was that last of the desert, the across the Texas Hill Country and into the Prairies and Lakes Region.  We now only see an occasional cactus beside the highway, no doubt some seed carried by vehicle traffic and dropped off.  Now too we see more green color, and trees all around us.  More recently are more frequent cattle.  Even some in the field adjacent to the campground.  Not only that but the rivers we cross now have water in them!

Heading to New Orleans, LA (NOLA) tomorrow.

A few last cactus from the camp garden last night

Near Ft. Stockton

Just for Ol’ Beaver Tooth, apparently his cousin has a restaurant chain out here

My only photo of the hill country has a lot of window glare

We’ve left the hill country behind now and are starting onto the prairies and lakes

A bit of San Antonio
