Hidden Valley Ranch, Deming NM

Guadeloupe was cold and raining, with a lot of wind this morning, so we left.  It appeared to be mountain effect rain since after a half hour we were in overcast sky but no longer raining.  It's the wide open spaces of the west so we could see it raining 20 miles to the south and also 20 miles back on Guadeloupe Peak.

I saw a coyote crossing the road soon after we left.  Carlene missed it because she was looking back at the park  t was out of sight by the time I got the words out.

The wind was viscous around El Paso and Las Cruces.  After we turned west at Las Cruces it became a headwind.  That took fuel but was not knocking us around like the side wind had.

Hidden Valley Ranch RV camp is on a working ranch several miles north of Deming.  Beautiful quiet setting, completely beyond city noise.   There is an enclosed tennis court that doubles as a dog park.  Callahan enjoyed being off leash with a ball for the first time in a month.  Boy was he happy!  Nice setting.  The WiFi is not working well and no cell data, so Ill publish this early and edit later tonight if the connection holds up.

It's holding up, so I have added photos to both the Ft. Davis and Guadeloupe posts as well as some here.  You may have figured out that I have a dash camera.  I just reach out to the dash and push a button.  Last year I was always after Carlene to take this & that photo while I was driving.  She could seldom get the camera out and than figure out what I wanted before we went past it.

A pretty lousy morning at Guadeloupe

Some nice artwork on many NM overpasses
The Rio Grande doesn't have enough water up here to even keep flowing
