Cheraw State Park, South Carolina

We left Hurt, VA this morning after a great 2 days with Barb & Paul.  Today was a mix of sun and clouds but when we got to Cheraw State Park in Cheraw SC it was sunny and near 70º.  After several attempts to get into our campsite we changed sites.  The location of the trees made backing in very difficult.  Avoid a tree near the front of the truck while avoiding trees at the opening of the site.  Nope.  The camp host said she has advised the park that they need to remove a couple more trees.

It’s a camp host we have met in previous years, she has a 12 yr old Golden who still plays well with Skye.  Of course as soon as we let her off leash she ran for the water.

After parking in a much better site we took a walk on the boardwalk along the side of the lake.  Finally got to hike in a T-shirt!
This evening we left the camper doors open until after 7 in complete comfort.

We’ll be here for two nights and will do some hiking and probably some repacking/sorting while we’re here.  It’s been too cold or too busy to finish the settling in.  It’s only day 5!

First photos are from our hike yesterday in Hurt.

And today’s photos:
