Another day, another state. Texas! But that’s the last time I’ll say that for quite a while. In a few days we’ll be down in Terlingua for a week while we visit the Big Bend National Park. At our pace it would be four days to drive across Texas anyway.
We had a pleasant drive across Louisiana this morning. It only got to 60° but that’s very comfortable. A fuel stop and a lunch stop at the TX welcome center and we were in camp just after 3. It’s our fourth time here at The Ranch at Walton Springs. Paul and Amanda are great people, very friendly always eager to share what they’re up to. Amanda has opened one of the out buildings to be a garden center and built a greenhouse. They’re busy planting and planning. They gave up on the events they used to host, such as weddings. It wasn’t worth the effort.
Then we worked on the coming week plans. A brewery/ Italian Bistro in Johnson City, a National Rec. Area campground ($3/night) in Del Rio, then a week in Terlingua.

Those scrap toys are the ones they always search for. And when they finally get tossed out the looks they give you. Even though they are the ones that made it scrap.
