We are in the West! Crossed the Mississippi after lunch. It was a very pleasant drive in the sun and a few clouds through rolling hills. There was a north wind a lot of the time and that kept me busy occasionally.
When we stopped for fuel in Jackson MS I saw a Bass Pro next door So naturally we went over great timing too because the e outdoor temperature sensor had quit working last night Got a new one, used our points so it didn’t even cost anything out of pocket. And so of course tonight the old unit is working again It must nave heard the new one come in the door this morning.
Tonight we are at Landry Vineyards in W. Monroe LA for our third visit. They’re closed on Sunday but we ordered a couple bottles of wine when we made our HH reservation yesterday. They were bagged and waiting for us when we arrived. We didn’t open any since we planned to go out to eat tonight. There are many Cajun seafood restaurants nearby. Our favorite from last year is closed so we’re trying a new one.
But first we got to talking with our HH neighbors live near Lafayette LA; south of here. Landry wine is sold in some stores near them so they wanted to check out the vineyard. We talked for quite a long time. He hunts all over the west and in SC too.
Then it was back into Monroe to the Laughing Crab Cajun Seafood. Carlene had catfish sandwich and I had shrimp and crawfish in a spicy Cajun sauce with corn, sausage and a small potato. All cooked in the sauce. Delicious!
Back at camp it looks like a night in the low 30s. We don’t bother with the hookups here even though there is a power post and water beside the camper. Plenty of internal power for the night. But the electric space heater has had more use this trip than previous trips. But we don’t hook up for just that.

We’ve always wanted to have good Cajun food. Hard to find around here. Our weather was warm for two days. Melted a lot of snow and the ice we got. Then we got 2” of fluffy snow last night before midnight. Wind was howling and back down into the 20’s. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Sky looks like she could use some for belly rubs.
Looks like you should be in Texas tomorrow, (actually today). We're in a bit a of a warm spell in NH, but at least the ice is gone.
