Carlene's Day

I drove eight miles to Lake Pleasant Regional Park and spent the day.  Of course, Callahan came along too.   Lake Pleasant is an essential water reservoir, and is part of the Central Arizona Project waterway system.  It is located 30 minutes north of the Phoenix Metropolitan area. It is an ideal destination for camping, hiking, boating, mountain biking, etc.
We explored the park and chose two trails to hike.  The longer trail was pleasant as it brought us close to the shore and an opportunity for Callahan to go for a cool swim a couple times on our way out and back.  The scenery was beautiful from many view points.  There were a few small sailboats out on the water.
