Tucson arrival

Tucson is a pretty good size city, about as big as I can handle and bigger than I need.  But still seems nice.  I was here 12 years ago and it looks about the same.  I'm sure it has grown but I can't tell the difference.  At 520,000 it just a little smaller than Vermont!  But then too I have said many times that VT is the size of a medium-sized American city.

What stands out immediately is that here on the west side of town the land is covered in Saguaro cactus.  All over the hillsides.  There are two small ones beside the camper and several more large ones in view right here in the RV Park. We'll have a much larger look at them tomorrow in the Saguaro National Park.  I drove through it 12 years ago without knowing I was doing it, it was just a shortcut to my destination.  My eyes bugged out!

The first photos are parting shots of Tombstone Livery.  Later I'll add a few of our present campsite.  We got the last available site in the park so we're right in front of the office.  Still a nice place.

And some sights from a walk around the camp in Tucson:
