We're in Texas!
Beautiful sunny 58 degrees coming over today. We are just a short way into TX and in position to get across north of Houston. We do not want to go anywhere near that big city. I don't mind driving around most big cities but H is too big and full of heavy traffic at warp speed.
This is yet another nice park. We'll have to put this on our list of places to come again. Looks like they have some good trails. Like many parks on a lake this probably has good paddling too.
As we left the Atchafalaya area and came west we could see the transition of the land into more broad forest and ag land. Even though it remained wet for some distance it was no longer swampy wet. Now we have come up into the pine forest. Just more change!
Going back a bit, here are some pictures from Sunday in New Iberia & St. Martinsville LA.
Steel wheeled tractor |
A common house style in this area. Brick with tall steep roofs. Must be some kind of hurricane design
This is the levee between our state park and the Atchafalaya Basin on the other side. |
Anyone give an Iota about this sign? |
A few views around Martin Dies Park
