Finally Westward; Bainbridge GA

We finally made the turn to the WEST!
After waiting out the snow we headed West from Savannah on US Rt 84 and are now at the Flint River Campground in Bainbridge GA.  A small campground right beside the highway, but more quiet than expected.  Operated by a young couple, the guy has several nice deer mounts in the office.  We didn't meet him but met his wife who said he is into hunting and fishing and that's how they met.

These US Highways are really nice, almost Interstate level roads.  Four lanes and between towns they are virtual Interstates.  But they do go through towns.  For us that is a nice change of scenery.  These towns show us the life style of the South to a better degree than what (little) you see from a real interstate.  One of those was Quitman, the Brooks County Seat.  We stopped for a lunch break in front of the courthouse.
