SamHouston Jones state park, Lake Charles, TX

It was a short distance byt a long day to get here.  Construction on I-10 pushed all that traffic onto US-190, which had it's own construction project.  Over 1-1/2 hours in a rolling parking lot.

We saw our first oil well pump today, crossed the Mississippi River, so we are now west of the Miss.  This area grows rice, so we saw plenty of rice paddies, a boat doing something in the flooded rice field.  Too bad we don't know anything about growing rice.

We stayed in this camground last year too.  It is a bit compact, to many big trees interfere with driving larger campers.  Luckily it was still daylight when we parked, it was dark last year which really made it hard to maneuver.

We talk like we're going to Galveston tomorrow, but info seems hard to find.  Maybe I'm just tired.
