First night in dry camp, worked fine. Despite the cool temp. the batteries kept the heater running all night and still had a good charge this morning. Yesterday I spent some time wiring the solar set up so I could run the 200w suitcase unit along with the 100w roof top unit. I have the generator also set up and I started it yesterday to have it ready to go easily whenever we want it. This afternoon when we got home the batteries were at 100% charge so it was worth it.
For the day's main event we went down to Patagonia, a small town about 30 miles away which has the Arizona Trail coming through it. We spent a while there last year too. But today we walked around town more, saw more of it, talked to more people etc. We met a young couple named Yuru and Chris who were selling and cooking dumplings on the sidewalk at the Farmers Market. We bought 5 and had them for lunch. Yummy!
Then we took a walk down the dry Sonoita Creek for a mile or so. Had to keep Cal happy, and since he was off leash he was very happy! After that we checked out the local museum in the old school. Much of the history is turn of the 20th century. The exhibits did have some material from earlier when it was a mining & railroad town in the 1800s.
Back in camp we just sat around behind the camper (out of the wind) and enjoyed the silence. We are back to one neighbor and one more in view, the others moved on today. No critter sightings today.
