Today was a day hike with Callahan, so it was only 4 miles. Last year we hiked around Parker Lake, this year we went to a ridge above Parker Lake to hike a piece of the Arizona Trail. On our way to the lake we saw a herd of antelope, almost a dozen. We stopped for some photos. On the way home we saw another herd of them numbering around 20. We must be acclimatizing because we did not stop for photos this time.
The hike was nice, had some good views of the lake, wasn't too much uphill or down, not too rocky. But Cal is sound asleep so it must have been enough.
When we got home we found some new neighbors. 2 campers from Washington parked across the driveway from us. We talked with them for a good half hour. Two divorcees from Seattle area who apparently camp together a lot. One has a Class C and the other has a 28' trailer & pick up. The Class C is a full time camper with a 7 month old Golden named Mabel. They left WA in Oct and plan to return in May. One spent the summer in Alaska.
