Speaking of rides, today we rode back to Bisbee and spent the day wandering about the village. We tried to get a mine tour but they were sold out for the day. Next year. We always need something to do next year anyway. We both walked for a while then Carlene walked with Callahan while I did a little more browsing. There is a great shop called Miners and Merchants Antique Center. It is 3 floors of endless nooks and crannies, all filled with odd items. It is like a museum where everything is for sale. I spent an hour in it last year and a little less this year.
It is a very scenic town, built up and down the steep hillsides of the canyon. One might wonder why build a town on such terrain. I don't know for sure but I figure it was because it was close to the mine, they had all this rock cutting equipment and knowledge so why not put it to use?
I got up at 5 AM to turn on the generator, seems half a day of solar isn't enough after two days of rain and dark clouds. I keep the solar panels in back of the camper next to the tires so they are not so visible from the road. That means they only get sun in the afternoon. That works when there is good sun all afternoon every day. I will consider some roof top panels for next year. This camper has a lot of open space on the roof, much more than the old one did.
Anyway, when I got up I could hear the coyotes howling and howling across the road. Yup, that was a great welcome for me to go outdoors and mess with the generator! I waited for them to stop. Then went out.
Saw this on the road today, hahaha |
Tonight's sunset. At first i was not expecting much, but then it changed!
This is the color of sunset in the East. I don't often see that color in the East. Tonight it was everywhere except North! |
How's the shoulder, Doc?
