Village Creek State Park, Lumberton TX

After 2 days at high warp covering some 750 light-years (miles) we have beamed down to a very different but eerily familiar world.  It has abundant water, tall plants, I think you call them trees, where you look down a road and see a mere 100 yards.  And mosquitoes!

Today's drive took us through Austin and Houston.  Austin wasn't bad; Houston is always a big deal.   I thought we were already in Houston by the looks of the city around us.  Then we saw a sign for Houston, 17 miles.  It was city all the way.  And more out the other side.  But I-10 right through downtown only slowed to a crawl once.

This state park is quite nice.  Compact but with fairly spacious sites.  Lots of trees.  We saw 3 deer playing in the twilight as we took an after-dinner walk.  The photos didn't have enough light.

I have added photos to the Guadeloupe Peak and Junction entries.

Some 5 level bridges in Houston:

I still wonder what this 100' tall "fence" is
