A relaxing day on the bayou. We started with a hike around the Bayou Segnette Park. It was less than 2 hours but we saw some good stuff. A couple birds, an armadillo. Cal pulled away to go chase the armadillo but it didn't respond so he just sniffed it and came back to us with a disappointed look.
Early afternoon we took a boat tour of the bayou. This retired Marine was a local boy, had stories of growing up here, hunting alligators and other things. We lucked out and only had 6 people on the boat, so we had lots of room to move about and see everything he pointed out. He had a good eye for gators and other wildlife on the water. And what an ACCENT!
This evening we went out for crawfish. Carlene and I split 5# between us. We went with Stevie and Jayne from Huntington and their friends Michael and Marian Abajian from Montpelier. I knew his brother as a Ham many years ago. We had a great time and the crawfish were delicious.
