Nice long drive 250 +\- miles in warm sunny weather.
Cell service was poor last night, possibly due to strong thunderstorms in the area. We had some wind but we considered it more of a cool breeze. Plenty of light show in the sky, gentle rain. No big deal. We left windows open and even a door open most of the night. It was 88 during the day and humidity that we’re not used to now.
Frank is a good host. Easy parking. He is from CT but married a Texan and ended up here growing olives to make olive oil. He gave a us tour of the orchard and a long discussion of the ups and downs of growing temperature sensitive crops in a place that has occasional sub freezing temperatures. Then a sample of his olive oil. Very good and quite different than commercial store oil. He made his career as executive chef for Marriot Hotels, met his wife in a meeting with guests making food requests for their event.
Very nice setting, 34 acres with 3 horses, big dogs for stock protection, a dozen or so cats.
