It rained last night! Sort of I awoke to hear sprinkling at 0340 and 0415, but not much when we got up and went outside the chairs that were leaning on the tires were still dry.
We arrived in Willcox near 1PM. It was a very nice scenic drive over here, partly on I-10 and partly on state roads. The I-10 portion came through Texas Canyon, a favorite place of boulders stacked like cannonball.
Once here at the Cattle Rest RV Park & Saloon we checked in at the bar. But, they didn’t have a record of us making a reservation! But eventually we got a site. For tonight. We had planned to do one night on a site and then 2 nights dry camping then 3 nights back on the site. They are well booked for a couple weeks. We got the same plan but are not sure if we have 1 or 2 nights dry camping. At least the dry camp nights are free. And this is a Harvest Host so the first night is half price. HH is free plus hookups. This will get us all set with full fresh water and empty waste tanks for the trip east when we leave next Tuesday. That’ll give us 2 weeks to reach FL so we can take a leisurely pace and probably hit some state parks for extra days.
So out on the town for propane and more groceries. When we shop it sure feels like we eat a lot. Yet I’m down about 8 pounds. I always tell my doc that life on the road is good for me!
