We needed some milk so we headed toward Arivaca for some hiking. Oh, and the store too. We tried to hike the Mustang Trail last year when we were scouting over here, but the Arivaca Stream had water in it! Who knew streams in AZ would have water? Too much to get across with dry feet. So this year we tried again. Dry as a bone! Nice 2+ miles each way, up around 1000’ to some very nice views. We me 3 women along the trail and again on the summit. One 20 yr local, another full time RVer new resident who is building a garage & bathroom to go with the 5th wheel and a visitor from Amarillo who is about to go full time RV.We had a good visit on top for a half hour. Skye of course was a key facilitator to the camaraderie. She introduced herself a few times on the trail and joined them a couple times on top before we got there. She isn’t supposed to be off leash but was anyway after we got clear of the popular areas.
The trail got steeper, more rocky and occasionally challenging as we went up. But the views were worth it. We saw a pair of Black Vultures soaring the area too. Skye was pretty hot today. She often stopped in shady places, which were very scarce. And she drank over a liter of water. We carry more water for her than we do for ourselves!
Luckily the store was open on Sunday and we og tour milk etc. but they were out of propane. Good thing we don't need any.
One lone Saguaro out here. No other in sight in any direction.
And of course Skye found another leg bone. She carried this for almost a half mile, stopping often in a shady spot to chew.

We got to go down that?
Signs of Spring!
Part way up I decided I wanted a walking stick. This center staff of a Yucca was a fine choice. Very light and seemed sturdy, although I didn’t want to put my full weight on it.
