Camp Haekel 3, hiking the Shake Trail

While we were packing for a hike the neighbors left.  Never did see them up close or talk to them.  Oh well, got the place to ourselves again.
The Shake Trail is a couple miles west of the Bear Canyon Trail that we hiked a couple other times.  This location was a little better marked but not by much.  However the campground up there is closed for COVID concerns. Yet all the dispersed campsites nearby are open.  More spread out is safer.
Great hike up the mountain from this place.  Had it all to ourselves.  With the campground closed there was one camper in an outer parking area that appeared to be set up for now.  He waved but we didn't make contact.  We just parked and hiked.
Some pretty nice views and lots of varying growth.  We started out in high desert vegetation and got up into the Douglas Fir and Ponderosa Pine forest.  That was pretty nice.  We have not been around big trees much for some time.  This became a 7 to 7.5 mile hike, depending on which device you read.

There used to be a sign on this post.
Should read "Deer Crossing" since Carlene saw a deer cross just below this post

The panorama in front of the camper

This little white van has been parked in several locations in sight of us for as long as we've been here.
