Roper Lake St. Park, Safford AZ

A one night stay at the state park to empty the waste tanks and refill the fresh water.  Plus getting a shower, throw out trash and charge a camera battery.  One stop shopping.  Well, we did go to a laundromat this morning.  We tried to get into a commercial campground that had a laundry facility but they didn't answer the phone and voicemail didn't work.  The park is nicer anyway.  More spacious.
We took a long walk with Callahan around the park this afternoon, saw some birds (see below) and saw an eagle or similar raptor grab a fish from the lake and fly off with the fish in it's talons.  We weren't fast enough to photo that!
Back to the boondock tomorrow.  We'll see if we can get the same area.  There are a lot of places to camp in that same vicinity anyway.

  1. Just might as well enjoy your time out west, it's not much fun around here.

  2. Dakota, I keep reading all the New England news. Feels strange skipping it. Not sure when it'll be the same here. And the worry of what we'll find on the road home. Will it be worse or better if we wait????
