Peralta 5, hike

Today is our final day at Peralta.  We have hiked everything we can easily reach from here.  And it's going to rain starting tomorrow night and we'd like to get off this road before that happens. I've unbolted the good jack on the rear and will leave the bent one in place as a skid guard.

Our hike today was back in Gold Canyon up to some petroglyphs.  It's only 4 miles RT but was a nice walk.  Lots of people on the trail.  The ranger warned us about the crowds on the weekends but we wanted to make this hike before we left.  We had wanted to do it tomorrow but changed for the rain forecast.

We saw a pair of mountain sheep rams on the trail!  They were just hanging out; appeared to be watching the human show on our trail while we watched them.

I have been running an experiment with the solar while here.  I did not get out the 200w solar panels I carry in the camper.  Just used the 100w panel on the roof.  It has worked OK, there has been cloudless sun all day and warm nights to reduce the need for heat.In fact the last 2 nights we have not had the heat on at all.  The air blower in the heat system takes a fair amount of power so when it's cold I'll need the extra panels to generate enough to run a full night of heat.
