Solomon 4, Graham mtn.

Great day for a hike on Graham Mountain, up on Ladybug Peak.  We started on Ladybug Saddle and went to the top of Ladybug Peak.  That was pretty short, about a mile round trip.  We checked the map and found Turkey Flat a couple miles down the road that appeared to have a trail connecting to the Ladybug Trail.  You may recall that we attempted to start up the Ladybug from Angle Orchard a few days ago, this is over halfway up the trail.  Sure enough Turkey Flat has a connector trail that is not on all of the maps.  Let me tell you, Turkey Flat is certainly NOT Flat!  Those trails may have some switchbacks but they still climb very steadily.  We started at 7444' and went to 8237', quite short of getting back to Ladybug at 8762'.  And that was less than 2 miles up the trail.  One thing that slowed us down was being around 8000', that's high for folks who live at 380'.

Went to Safeway for groceries.  Apparently the panic hording is starting here too.  Not bad.  Sounds better than it is at home.  No TP of course, and out of chicken, burger & almost out of bread until tomorrow.  Big signs limiting purchase quantities of certain items.  We got everything we needed and have plenty and no room in the camper for hoarding anyway!

Got home about 5, Cal was quite happy to have some company again.  Made some gin & tonic and pop corn and sat in the sun to cap off the day.

A couple more Abert's Squirrels

The dark line is the road, red lines are trails

Well, it is Ladybug Peak!

They even put a guardrail on this piece of trail!
