Moving day again, this time a whopping 30 miles to the Empire Ranch. Our usual spot was occupied, first time we have found both sites occupied. So we’re a quarter mile north on a site we have looked at while walking past it on several occasions. Another nice place. While we were sitting in our chairs, a herd of cattle came by, must be checking out the new neighbors.
After setting up and relaxing a bit we went on a 3 mile hike up the hills, across the gulch and back down the road. Found a nice flowering cactus on the way too! There were several other of the same cactus but only one in flower. And it has dried up a bit in a month. The big mud hole that Skye got into last time is now just a dried up hole with a few gallons of water in a couple low spots. But we still had her on leash since we didn’t know how dry it was,.
On the way back we met a couple from OR who have been full time RV for a while, their first time here. Skye made the most of meeting them, of course.
More cows?
A white Angus calf?
Woven-spine pineapple cactus
