First thing this morning was a drive to Anemas NM for fuel and tires. We had a couple tires getting a bit worn so while we have time to do it comfortably we did it. Found a cool store, some basic groceries and all the hardware and parts you might need to run a ranch!
Then over to the Chiricahua Desert Museum for a few hours of excellent desert natural history and Apache history. Plants, animals, lots of snakes, Gila Monsters and Geronimo all in 2 buildings.
Then a drive up into the mountains to a little place called Paradise. There is nothing there except some residences. But it was a very nice drive! On tha way back we stopped at a bird watching location, there are several marked on the forest map. We didn’t see any special birds, but what appeared to be a Javalina grunted at Carlene before running off. Gave her some excitement! I was a few yards away and heard the grunting but didn’t see anything.
Once back at camp we 3 had a good walk all around and met the park goats. This park has 3 goats and large collection of exotic birds and other odd wildlife from around the world.
