Big Bend 4

A real mixture of a day.  It was cold, windy and sunny with a forecast of only 58.  So we spent the morning doing stuff here.  Carlene did laundry and I did a bunch of small tasks in the camper.  Also got a lot of work done for the VT State Cowboy shoot in July.  Emails and planning items that I hadn’t gotten to do yet.  Still more to come.  And a little research on a weird truck item.  After that long washboard the steering wheel was canted way to the right.  I emailed some friends and Rancho Roy found me a U Tube that got it fixed in no time!  Yahoo!

So we needed something in the afternoon.  There is a dirt road out behind the campground that we have walked out but never driven out to see where it goes.  Today we did.  It isn’t long but got us to the hills behind camp for a good 1.7 mile walk with Skye off leash.  That was the first goal anyway.  She had a great time!

Then a drive around town.  Now, driving around Terlingua doesn’t really take much time.  Terlingua and Study Butte (pronounced Stoody, for Will Study) claims around 200 residents in the census. But we checked out a couple restaurants and stopped in at a tourist store.  The store had a lot of interesting things from the usual tourist stuff to books and historic things.    Back to camp for supper.  We may or may not try out a restaurant.  We’ve been to 2 in previous years.
