Overcast to start and then partial sun, but cool! Just over 50 for a high and last night about 31.
We began with a hike around a Nature Trail in the middle of the park. Dug Out Wells was the locatio a place where the natural water runoff from the mountains nearby would come up to the surface and people would gather around it. Later they dug out the ground to get more water.
After that we went to the farthest east part of the park to Rio Grande Village for another walk on another Nature Trail. This one was far less posted with nature signs but had much more views to offer. And it was right on the Rio Grande. We could have stuck a hand in it but it was a cool day. We could have waded out in the middle and stuck a hand in the Rio Bravo (as the Mexicans call it). Way too cool for that!
Skye got a good walk around the picnic area behind the campground. That’s the best she could get. No dogs on trails in the National Parks.
