Tattered Camp Spot, Gladewater, TX

We made it to Texas!  There won’t be any more state-a-day traveling for a while now!

Wildlife news, we saw a live coyote on the roadside today.  It looked very healthy, although he was considering crossing the interstate, so that may have been a temporary condition.

It was a bit longer day today with almost 300 miles.  We got a good start at 8 this morning.  Needed that too.  Got in at about 2:30, which isn’t bad.  It took a while to get parked.  Not much room here.  This is a Boondockers Welcome site, so it’s just a guy’s yard.  When you see the pictures you’ll understand.  It’ll be interesting getting out in the morning too.  Robert is a good talker.  We hung out and chatted for quite a while after parking.  And later he brings out some Tacos he grilled.  Delicious!  It was a bit hot, and included a grilled Jalapeño.  Also delicious!  I ate most of it.  Carlene was cooking fresh eggs from last night’s HH.  I’ll have mine for breakfast!

It was warmer today too.  First time I’ve been in a T-shirt in many months.  It’s 7:30 now and the camper doors are still open.  That Arctic air is moving in tonight along with some overnight rain so we won’t be this warm again for a few days. We’re figuring on 3 days to get to Big Bend where we’ll spend several days.

A couple views while crossing the Mississippi River
