Tucson 3, the Museum

We had to get an early start today to catch the Raptor Free Flight Show at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum.  Our friends Greg and Terri (former Cowboy Action Shooters from New England) are members of the museum and they had a couple guest passes, so the four of us went to see it all.  It may be our third time at the museum and it just doesn’t get old.

We met Greg & Terri at their house, just a few miles north of our campground at 8 to be sure we could get up there in time for the flight show.

Made it in plenty of time.  This flight show is free flying raptors that live at the museum.  Ravens, Great Horned Owl, Caracara and one other.  It is a 6 day/week show so the birds are very used to flying around the people.  They come right over you head at time, just inches above you!

We also wandered about and saw just about everything there was to see for most of the day.  Lunch was interesting too.  Greg ordered some Cactus Fries for an appetizer.  That Prickly Pear Cactus cut up, battered and fried.  With a dipping sauce.  Delicious!

Skye spent a boring day in the camper.  I had to play with her quite a bit this evening to make up for it.  So she told me.
