Tucson, Pima County Fairgrounds RV Park 1

We left Arivaca at 9 and arrived at Pima County Fairgrounds RV Park at 11.  Got settled just in time for lunch.

About all we did after that was go grocery shopping and lounge around.  Took a long walk around the grounds for about an hour.  did some planning of the things we want to do here, mostly supply stops.  Camping World, a couple places for Mexican and New Mexican food, get a haircut etc.  Friday we’ll go with our friends to the Desert Museum.  Looking forward to that.  We may also get to Old Tucson, the movie set where they made a lot of the old westerns.
This new campsite takes some getting-used-to.  We have been in some pretty dark sky places, even in camp.  Beautiful starry sky views in those places.  Here there are full city style lights.  Not much for star gazing.  We just took Skye out for her 9 PM walk and as I look up all I can see are the moon and Jupiter in conjunction and Sirius.  Nothing else.  Well, I could walk out in the back lot where the street lights are off.  I won’t, but I could!
Maybe there will be more excitement to report tomorrow!

Some views around the new campground

  1. Doc, finally got caught up with your posts. Somehow, I got ten days behind. Looks like an adventure to be sure.
